The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Center (UROC) is offering a one-time academic year funding opportunity, to support the continued research and development for Undergraduate Research in the Humanities (UROC-H) Scholars. The UROC-H Academic Year Research Award is aimed to support student-initiated/independent research, contributions to faculty-initiated research or creative projects/endeavors during the Fall 2021 &/or Spring 2022 terms in the Humanities based Research Projects.
Deadline to Submit a Proposal: September 15th
- ONE Semester Fall 2022 or Spring 2023
- BOTH Fall 2022 & Spring 2023 (stipends will be disbursed separately, each semester)
Eligibility:
- UROC-H Scholar
- Completed UROC SURI
- Enrolled full-time at UC Merced
- Endorsed by Faculty Mentor
- Research must NOT conflict with scholar's academic year studies
Proposal Requirements:
- Submit a Completed Proposal by the Deadline
- Obtain Faculty Endorsement (a automated request will be emailed to FM once you submit your proposal)
- Unofficial Transcripts
Award Recipient Expectations:
- Awardees MUST ATTEND MONTHLY MEETINGS with the UROC-H Coordinator
- Awardees MUST PRESENT their research at UC Merced's Research Week in Spring 2023
- Awardees MUST SUBMIT A FINAL RESEARCH PAPER or CREATIVE PROJECT to UROC Prior to Graduation
- For Research Activities Involving Human Subjects, Applicants Must Seek IRB Approval From the Office of Research Compliance and Integrity
