The Research Fellows Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB)

The Research Fellows Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) offers a unique post-baccalaureate, two-year fellowship for high-potential individuals to do research in business related fields, such as Economics, Finance, and Political Economy. Fellows have the opportunity to work with GSB distinguished faculty members, take doctoral level courses, and fully engage in the intellectual life at GSB and the University.

Because of its strong belief in the value of diversity (broadly defined) in the pursuit of its educational mission, Stanford GSB strongly encourages applications from women and under-represented minorities, as well as from others whose backgrounds and experience would bring additional dimensions to the educational experience. The fellowship offers tuition, health insurance, and a living stipend. The application for the July 2015 start date is now available and will be accepted during two admissions rounds. Fall application deadline: October 28, 2014. Spring application deadline: March 3, 2015. Questions about the Research Fellows program can be directed to gsb_fellows@stanford.edu.

Prospective students are also invited to explore the GSB PhD Program, a full-time research intensive doctoral program designed to develop outstanding scholars in seven distinct fields of study: AccountingEconomic Analysis & PolicyFinanceMarketingOperations, Information & TechnologyOrganizational Behavior, and Political Economics. Drawing on their diverse undergraduate backgrounds, such as economics, engineering, mathematics, political science, psychology, sociology, and statistics, our students have a unique opportunity to combine the strengths of their academic preparation and experiences and apply them to their field of study and research at GSB. The program is small by design to foster close interaction between our distinguished faculty and students. The average time to degree in our program is five years. GSB PhD graduates go on to become leading scholars in academic positions at top universities and programs.  All admitted students receive a full fellowship that includes stipend, tuition, and opportunities to work as a research or course assistant. The admission application for Fall 2015 is now available, and the deadline is December 1, 2014. For questions about the PhD program, prospective students can email us at phd_program@gsb.stanford.edu

We invite prospective applicants to both programs to review our admission events calendar to attend one of our upcoming events to learn more about our programs, what we look for in a candidate, the student experience and admission process.
