UROC Academic Year CAMP Research Award

The UROC office offers one-time funding support for students to conduct faculty-mentored research during Fall 2025 at UC Merced. The CAMP funding opportunity is open to students in STEM disciplines.
Deadline to Submit: Thursday, September 4th, 2025 at 11:50 pm Pacific Time.
Only complete applications will be processed.
*Awards will be granted until funding has run out.
Eligibility:
To be eligible, students must:
- Have a UC Merced faculty research mentor (who will also serve as the faculty sponsor) supporting the student’s application.
- Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student at UC Merced in Fall 2025.
- Pursue a research project in STEM.
- Plan the research project so it does not interfere with students' classes or academic progress during the school year.
- Present the research project at:
- The UC Merced Research Week Showcase (around March 2026)
- CAMP symposium (February 20 and 21, 2026 at UC Irvine).
- Not receive both credit and funding for the same project (students can only receive one).
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (required by the funding source).
Award Recipient Expectations:
- Students receiving the stipend are expected to dedicate approximately 8–10 hours per week to the research project.
- Awardees must attend monthly academic programming organized by the UROC office.
- Awardees must fill out the accountability checkpoints prompted from the CatCourse every two weeks.
