University of Michigan Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP)

University of Michigan Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP)

SROP is a summer program designed to prepare undergraduates for graduate study through intensive research experiences with faculty mentors and enrichment activities. The major focus of SROP is to provide an in-depth research experience. Students work one-on-one with faculty mentors, then present the results of their work at a culminating campus symposium. Each student receives a stipend of $4,000 for the summer, plus campus room and board during the program. In addition, round-trip transportation is provided to and from the University of Michigan and the cost of the GRE-prep course is covered. Students must have their own personal medical/health insurance coverage throughout the duration of the program

SROP participants are expected to participate in the 8 week summer program full-time. Please visit our website for this year’s exact dates.

The SROP program at the University of Michigan is open to undergraduate students with the following qualifications:

• U.S. citizen or permanent resident
