The 2017 NSSE result was 39% of seniors stated they worked on research with faculty (infographic attached). I also attached the Pocket Guide that has some of the data.

Through December 2020, 3,179 (27%) UC Merced undergraduate alumni have gone on to a graduate level program.
Of these students, 1406 (44%) were URM.
