Bachelor of Science-Biological Sciences, Molecular and Cell Biology Emphasis
As an undergrad I was a UC LEADS Scholar, beginning in the summer of 2012. As a UC LEADS Fellow, I had the opportunity to perform research across two different UC campuses over the course of two years. The first year I conducted research on the UC Merced campus and the second summer I was on the UC Santa Cruz campus. Both summers I designed a project and various experiments with my mentor to carry out my project. After the completion of each position, I presented my research in a professional setting in the form of a poster and/or a short presentation. The first national conference that I attended was in 2012 at the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) in Seattle, Washington.
