The CV PATH Research Experience is a collaborative summer research opportunity for students from Bakersfield College and CSU Bakersfield to conduct faculty-mentored research.

UCM Program Dates: June 3rd - July 7th, 2024
PROGRAM COMPONENTS:
- 5-week paid research experience
- Research available to students in all disciplines at UC Merced
- Fully paid residential program at UC Merced (housing and meal plan)
- Faculty networking and mentorship
- Professional development workshops
- Participation in a fall research symposium to present research
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Enrolled student at Bakersfield College or CSU Bakersfield
- Completed at least 12 units
- Be in good academic standing with your college; 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
- Actively pursuing a transfer path or graduate school
- Completed or currently taking transfer level English and Math

Include any information that may aid the selection committee in evaluating your need to prepare to transfer to a 4-year institution. (400 words max)
- Personal Insight Questions:
- A) Describe how you have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity or worked to overcome an educational barrier you have faced. (350 words max)
- B) Please describe how you have prepared for your intended major, including your readiness to succeed in upper-division courses once you enroll at a 4-year university. (350 words max)
- CSU Bakersfield Students:
- Please discuss why you are interested in CV PATH, how it will aid in your goals for graduate studies or research, and ultimately your future occupation or profession. Include any information that may aid the selection committee in evaluating your need to prepare for graduate school. (600 words max)
- Please describe how your personal background has helped shape your decision to pursue a graduate degree. We invite you to include in this statement how you may contribute to the diversification of research. (600 words max)
