Boston University has a newly funded summer research program, Summer Training as Research Scholars (STaRS).
The program has been running for the past five years, but now with funding from the NIH-NHLBI, we have revised and expanded the program.
We will accept 15 minority students interested in conducting biomedical research. The program runs from June 2 until Aug. 8 and includes not only state-of-the art research experiences but also journal clubs, professional development workshops and field trips to local biotech or pharmaceutical labs.
The program covers transportation to and from Boston, housing and a stipend of $4,800, as well as the travel of each participant to present his or her research at a national meeting such as ABRCMS or SACNAS.
Please see the attached fliers for additional information. The application can be found online and the deadline is Feb. 15, 2014.
Please take a look at the attached brochure and flier.
