The UROC-H Public Humanities Project Grant offers UROC-H Scholars the opportunity to translate their humanities research for the public. This high-impact practice encourages UROC-H scholars to make meaningful connections between their humanities scholarship and the needs of the local community and non-academic audiences through new models of social engagement.

Project Planning and Implementation Timeline:
- Fall 2022 (Begin Planning) – Spring 2023 (Complete Project)
Project Funding Awards:
- Funding awards will between $100 - $1,000.
- Funding awards will be determined upon review of each project's proposed budget.
- Grant recipient(s) will receive a $500.00 stipend once the project is complete
Deadline to Submit:
- February 28, 2023 or When Annual Funding Runs Out
- Applications will be reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis
Eligibility:
- UROC-H Scholar
- Completed UROC SURI
- Enrolled full-time at UC Merced
- Research must NOT conflict with scholar's academic year studies
Requirements:
- Submit a Completed Application by the Deadline
- Submit an Itemized Budget of Proposed Public Humanities Project (between $100 -$1,000)
- Submit Unofficial Transcripts
Grant Recipient Expectations:
- Awardees MUST ATTEND MONTHLY MEETING with the UROC-H Coordinator
- Awardees MUST PRESENT their research at UC Merced's Research Week in Spring 2023
- Projects can be implemented any time between September 2022 and April 2023, although all projects MUST be completed by April 30, 2023.
