Indiana University--Getting You into IU Program

You are invited to apply to Indiana University’s “Getting You into IU” Program – a competitive, all-expenses paid, recruitment weekend for promising underrepresented and minority students interested in applying to PhD and MFA programs for Fall 2015 admission to Indiana University Bloomington (IUB).  Students who have participated in undergraduate scholarly programs like TRIO ; LSAMP; IMSD and other undergraduate training programs are excellent candidates.  The event begins Sunday October 12, 2014 and ends October 14, 2014.   The application deadline is September 5, 2014.

“Getting You into IU” has proven to be helpful for students who go on to apply for admission into IU.  We now have approximately 30 former participants enrolled in graduate programs at IU.

A personalized itinerary will be prepared by for each participant; including:
- Individual and group meetings with IU faculty members in the student’s department of interest
- Opportunity to sit in on classes in the participant’s discipline of interest
- Tours of departments and research facilities
- Sessions on preparing competitive applications for graduate admission and fellowships
- Formal and informal sessions with current graduate students to talk about degree programs and graduate student life at Indiana University
- Tours of the local area

Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents who will have completed a bachelor’s degree by the end of the 2014-15 academic year.  The application process for “Getting You into IU” consists of:

(1) a completed online application: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GU2IUstudentapplication2014 which will ask you to

(b) identify your prospective PhD or MFA program; and,

Indiana University Graduate School and its campus partners will provide all travel, lodging, and meals for visiting participants selected for this program.
