UROC is creating a Citizen Science Research Community for students to connect with others about research. With many of the in-person research opportunities limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, working on a citizen science research project is a great way to get exposed to a cool research problem and make a contribution from wherever you are located.
The intention is for students to collaborate with others working on the same or similar projects, and DUE and UROC facilitators will bring in faculty and guest speakers to share more about research in the fields of student projects. Students will get early research experience, add an item to their resume/CV, prepare for future research with UCM faculty, connect with UROC Staff, learn about applying their coursework to real-world problems, and expand their peer network.
*There is research available in a range of disciplines and is not meant just for STEM majors.
The first meeting will be Thursday November 12 from 5:30pm-6:30pm. Visit this link to confirm your interest in joining this group and for links to projects on different websites.
